License Agreement

This is going to take forever so we won't blame you for TL;DR. The good news is there's no quiz and no need to use Google Translate that speaks lawyer. Give it a try. You might be surprised.
Version: 1.0
Effective: September 27, 2026
This License Agreement is between Mage Coach LLC, an Oklahoma company, and the individual who purchases or receives a Mage Coach license ("you"). If somebody buys Mage Coach as a gift, the named recipient is the licensed individual.
This Agreement explains what you are buying, what you may do with it, and what Mage Coach promises in return.
Please read this Agreement before purchasing. By purchasing Mage Coach after being given the opportunity to review this Agreement, you agree to its terms. Nothing here takes away rights that the law says you must have.
1. What you are buying — one payment, no subscription shenanigans
Mage Coach is a Windows desktop application for reviewing locally available Magic: The Gathering Arena games, decks, collection information, Player Notes, reports, and player-created coaching packages.
Mage Coach 2.x is one complete product sold for a US$75 one-time price, before any tax or currency conversion shown at checkout. It is not a subscription, does not renew automatically, and does not charge by game, deck, report, note, or coaching package.
Lemon Squeezy runs the checkout and is the Merchant of Record for the transaction. The checkout shows the final currency, tax, payment method, and total before you pay.
2. Your license — one person, three computers
One Mage Coach license belongs to one person and may be used on up to three Windows computers at one time. The license begins after successful payment or an approved complimentary copy.
Installed and Portable are two delivery formats of the same product. Using one or both formats on the same physical computer consumes one device slot and does not require another purchase.
You may use Mage Coach for your own play, streaming, content creation, tournament preparation, or coaching work. Other people may watch the program or receive and discuss reports or exports you choose to share. Someone who wants to operate Mage Coach independently needs a separate license.
You may keep reasonable backup copies of the installer, Portable package, Agreement, and your own Mage Coach data. You may not sell, rent, lend, sublicense, share, or transfer the license unless the law requires otherwise or Mage Coach gives written permission.
3. Your permanent Mage Coach 2.x license — version 3.0 cannot eat it
Your license to use Mage Coach 2.x does not expire. All patches and 2.x updates that Mage Coach releases are included at no additional cost.
A future major version, such as Mage Coach 3.0, may be sold separately. You can keep using Mage Coach 2.x whether or not you buy it. Buying a later major version does not take away your right to use Mage Coach 2.x.
Mage Coach depends on Windows, MTG Arena, card-data sources, and other outside systems. Changes to those systems may eventually affect compatibility or some features. Section 12 explains how long each paid major version is supported.
4. Activation and device slots — no hardware hostage situation
Activating a new computer normally requires an internet connection and your purchase key. Mage Coach sends the licensing service only the purchase key, a protected device public key and proof, a random attempt identifier, the Mage Coach product and version, and any optional device label you enter.
It does not send your Arena logs, games, decks, collection, Player Notes, reports, AI packages, Windows account name, computer name, or hardware serial numbers.
After activation, Mage Coach saves a signed license on that computer. The license does not expire and does not require regular online checks. You do not need a Mage Coach username or password, and the program will not wake up one morning and demand that you prove you still own it.
You can manage all three device slots through Settings > License > Manage Devices on an activated computer. A fresh installation can also open Manage Devices and use the purchase key before activation. You can rename an active slot, deactivate an unavailable computer, and reuse the free slot without paying a transfer fee.
You do not need the old computer to free its slot. It may be broken, missing, stolen, or enjoying retirement as a very expensive paperweight.
Keep your purchase key somewhere safe. Do not post it publicly or place it in a device label, support screenshot, gameplay package, or shared document. Posting it publicly is an excellent way to meet strangers, but not a good way to protect your license.
5. Offline use and outages — if the internet falls over, Mage Coach keeps standing
After activation, Mage Coach's core local features continue working without regular license checks. An outage involving the licensing service, Lemon Squeezy, email, DNS, another provider, your network, or the internet does not disable an already valid license or remove your local data.
Activating a new computer, managing device slots, restoring a purchase, downloading updates, sending support email, and using an external AI normally require a working connection to the applicable service.
If the internet or one of those services is having a day, keep using an already activated copy and consult the bundled User Guide. Do not buy Mage Coach again merely because a server needs a nap. Your wallet does not need to participate in the outage.
6. Your data — "yours" continues to mean "yours"
Your Arena logs, database, decks, collection snapshots, Player Notes, reports, coaching packages, exports, settings, and backups belong to you. Mage Coach stores them in the data location you select and does not claim ownership of them.
Mage Coach does not automatically upload your gameplay, diagnostics, crash reports, Player Notes, reports, AI packages, or collection information. If you choose a OneDrive or other synchronized folder, that provider may copy the files according to your settings. That is the synchronization service doing synchronization-service things—not Mage Coach quietly uploading your data.
Uninstalling Mage Coach does not delete your data by default. Back up anything you care about preserving. Mage Coach cannot recreate a file when no surviving copy exists; regrettably, neither can we negotiate with the void.
7. External AI and sharing — Mage Coach packs the box; you decide where to send it
Mage Coach does not include an AI account or pay for AI usage. It creates coaching and deck-building packages locally on your computer. You decide whether to give a package or copied text to an external AI or another person.
An external AI provider is a separate service with its own terms, privacy practices, availability, usage limits, possible charges, and character flaws. Once you share something with that provider, its rules apply to the copy it receives.
Review a package before sharing it. Mage Coach labels parser evidence, player-written material, calculated results, coaching interpretation, and unknown information, but generated coaching and external AI answers can still be incomplete or wrong. Artificial intelligence remains fully capable of making very natural mistakes.
8. Acceptable use — no key sharing, lock-picking, or supervillain origin stories
You may use Mage Coach as described in this Agreement. You may not:
- share your purchase key or device slots so another person can use your license independently;
- bypass the three-computer limit, activation protections, signatures, or other access controls;
- sell, rent, sublicense, distribute, or commercially host Mage Coach itself—come on now;
- remove ownership notices or claim that Mage Coach is your product;
- use Mage Coach to break the law, violate another person's rights, or break the rules of a tournament, platform, or game; or
- reverse engineer or modify protected parts of the program, except where the law specifically allows it.
Mage Coach is a post-game review product. This Agreement does not authorize prohibited live competitive assistance, automated control of MTG Arena, credential collection, or interference with Arena or another service.
In short: use Mage Coach to study the game—not to make Wizards of the Coast learn your name for the wrong reason.
9. Refunds — 14 days, no polygraph test
Every paid Mage Coach major version includes the separate Mage Coach Refund Policy. You may request a full refund during the 14 calendar days beginning with that purchase's first successful activation.
Downloading Mage Coach, receiving the receipt, or attempting an activation that fails does not start the 14-day period. You do not need to provide a reason, uninstall the program first, submit gameplay evidence, or pay a Mage Coach refund fee. There is no guilt trip and no refund-request boss battle.
Requesting a refund, waiting for a decision, or having a pending chargeback does not immediately interrupt a valid license. Once the refund or payment reversal is confirmed as complete, you must stop using the refunded version as the complete licensed product. New activation and device management for that purchase will stop, but Mage Coach will not delete your local data. The affected version will keep its applicable Data Access Mode.
The separate Refund Policy provides the complete details. If the law or the merchant gives you stronger refund rights, those stronger rights still apply.
10. Data Access Mode — your files are not collateral damage
If a complete commercial license is unavailable, Mage Coach may open in permanent, offline-capable Data Access Mode. This is not a free edition of Mage Coach. It allows access to existing local information and approved backup, export, management, privacy, and deletion controls, but it does not create new paid-product output.
Replacing a computer, reinstalling Windows, suffering a hardware failure, or trying to activate a fourth computer is a license-management situation—not an admission of piracy. Uncertain, damaged, or contradictory license information receives a recovery path and does not justify deleting local data. A broken computer is not a confession.
Permanent license revocation is reserved for a narrowly verified serious violation. It requires human authorization and notice when practical. A provider outage, pending refund, or damaged protected file does not automatically revoke the license.
Rights that the law says cannot be revoked or limited remain unaffected.
11. Ownership — your data is yours, Mage Coach is ours, and Magic is theirs
Mage Coach LLC or its licensors own the original Mage Coach software, documentation, branding, and design. Buying a license gives you the right to use the product; it does not transfer ownership of Mage Coach itself.
Magic: The Gathering, MTG Arena, card names, card text, artwork, and related marks and materials belong to their respective owners. Mage Coach is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Wizards of the Coast.
Third-party software and public card-data components remain subject to their own licenses and notices.
In short, everyone leaves with the property they arrived with.
12. Support and product life — a human answers, and nobody plans to vanish into a 404
Product and license support is available at staff@magecoach.com. During normal operations, Mage Coach aims to provide a meaningful human response within two US Central Time business days. That is a response target, not a promise that every defect or outside-service problem can be completely fixed within two days.
Each paid major version receives support for at least two years after its general release and at least one year after the next paid major version is released, whichever ends later.
During that minimum support period, Mage Coach will keep the last approved packages, documentation, activation and device-recovery path, and known limitations available when technically and legally practical.
Reaching the end of formal support does not switch off an already activated copy. It can continue working for as long as Windows can run it and MTG Arena does not substantially change or remove the logs, data formats, or processes Mage Coach relies on. There is no expiration timer hiding under the rug, but Mage Coach cannot promise compatibility after an outside system makes a major change.
If Mage Coach permanently closes without an operating buyer or successor, it will stop accepting new sales before it can no longer fulfill them and will provide as much notice as practical, aiming for at least 12 months. Existing customers will receive whatever download, backup, export, and server-independent continuity instructions are available.
An emergency, incapacity, disaster, provider collapse, or legal restriction may make 12 months of notice impossible. Catastrophes are, regrettably, bad at respecting calendars.
13. Disclaimers — the shuffler remains outside our jurisdiction
Mage Coach is a coaching and evidence-review tool. It can help you study decisions and recognize patterns, but it cannot guarantee wins, rank, tournament results, deck legality, card-value accuracy, or uninterrupted compatibility with MTG Arena, Windows, an AI provider, or another outside service.
Arena logs may be incomplete, delayed, changed, or ambiguous. Hidden information remains hidden. Coaching, heuristics, statistics, card relationships, and external AI answers still require judgment. A confident-looking chart can also be confidently wrong.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Mage Coach is provided "as is" and "as available," without implied warranties beyond those the law says cannot be excluded.
That does not erase any clear promise made in the product description, Refund Policy, Privacy Notice, or applicable consumer law. If Mage Coach says it will do something, this paragraph is not a trapdoor underneath that promise.
Mage Coach can coach you; it cannot topdeck for you.
14. Limits on liability — a $75 coaching app does not protect you from the entire Multiverse
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Mage Coach LLC is not responsible for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages.
Mage Coach LLC is also not responsible for loss caused solely by an outside service, an unsupported system change, synchronization settings you selected, or failure to keep a backup.
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Mage Coach LLC's total liability arising from the purchased version will not exceed the amount you paid for that version.
These limits do not apply where the law says they cannot apply. They do not reduce the Refund Policy or any other remedy the law says you must have.
Buying a coaching app does not turn it into an insurance policy for every computer, account, tournament, or plane of existence.
15. Disputes — talk first; no forced-arbitration ambush
This Agreement is governed by Oklahoma law. If the law where you live gives you mandatory consumer rights or access to a particular court or forum, those rights remain available.
If a dispute occurs, both sides should first contact each other and make a good-faith effort to resolve it informally.
This Agreement does not require mandatory arbitration and does not waive class-action or jury-trial rights.
Nobody gets teleported into a private Phyrexian arbitration dungeon by clicking Buy.
16. Changes and legal housekeeping — no time warps and no rogue traps
A later agreement or policy cannot travel backward in time and take away the permanent rights attached to a purchase you already made.
If Mage Coach introduces a material new term, it will provide clear notice and obtain acceptance when required. Administrative corrections, clearer explanations, and typo repairs may be published without changing existing purchase rights. Commas occasionally wander off; your license does not.
If one provision cannot be enforced, it will be narrowed or removed only as much as necessary. The rest of the Agreement will continue. One troublesome plank does not sink the entire ship.
This Agreement, the Refund Policy, the Privacy Notice, the facts shown at checkout, and your transaction-specific receipt form the complete agreement for the purchase.
A clear, prominent product promise cannot be quietly reversed by less-visible fine print. No trapdoors.
